As a customer purchasing crayfish, I learned all the wrong ways to ship crayfish, which led me to figuring out the safest and best way to ship.
All crayfish are shipped via Fedex 2 day. Please allow a few days for processing. We ship crayfish out of water with a sponge to prevent drowning in shipping. Yes, crayfish can breath as long as the air is moist. This is why they come in bag as well, to lock that moisture in.
Don't worry as we have live arrival guarantee. You will need to ship these somewhere where there will be someone to open the box. Please send me photos within an hour of delivery if their are any issues with your crayfish.
Plan to be home on delivery day, a box on a hot or freezing porch undoes all the careful packing.
1. Open the box right away and check on your new arrival.
2. Float the sealed bag in your tank for 15-20 minutes to match temperature.
3. Over the next 20-30 minutes, add small amounts of tank water to the bag a few times.
4. Gently release the crayfish near a hide and dim the lights for the rest of the day.
5. Skip feeding the first day; offer a small meal the next.
Don't worry if your crayfish hides for a day or two. New arrivals often celebrate the trip with a molt, which is a great sign it feels safe.
If your crayfish arrives dead, send us a clear photo of the unopened bag within 2 hours of the carrier's delivery scan and we'll replace it or refund you, your choice. No runaround, no store-credit games.
We can offer that because it almost never happens. The packing process above exists so the guarantee stays boring.
Order today and your crayfish ships on the next safe shipping day.
